Gaming Merchandise Releases: Blizzard, EA Nab More Licenses

Aug. 16, 2019 marked one of the biggest gaming merchandise releases of the year, with the release of Diablo Immortal. Blizzard, the developer of Diablo and Warcraft, and EA, the developer of Madden and FIFA, revealed a hoard of new merchandise. Blizzard’s new Diablo Immortal T-shirt features the corrupted titan Diablo and the phrase “I live to slaughter,” a reference to the game’s resurrection mechanic. EA’s new Madden 19 t-shirt features an updated version of EA’s logo that replaces the traditional football with a soccer ball. The shirt is available in sizes for both men and women. EA also released a new line of footballs that are inspired by the game. The line includes a replica of the championship trophy from Madden NFL 25, as well as an alternate design that features players from the FIFA 20 World Cup. EA also released a set of bobbleheads that are reimaginings of some of the game’s characters, including Jaina Proudmoore from Warcraft and Geralt from Witcher. Finally, Funko released a line of Dorbz figures of some of the gaming’s most popular characters, including Mario, Pikachu, and Sonic.
